Kate Shaw

20+ years designing consumer mobile and data-heavy experiences in health tech, fintech, digital identity, and media. Led design at startups and scale-ups, consulted for Amazon and the BBC, and designed for some of the most trust-critical products in the world.

I care most about the work that happens before pixel-perfect designs: understanding users, asking the right questions, and making sure design decisions are grounded in something real.

Lately I've been prototyping directly in code with AI closing the gap between idea and working artefact, and exploring how agentic tools reshape the senior designer's toolkit.
